As scouts started to prepare for the 2010 National Scout Jamboree that currently is taking place at Fort A.P. Hill. Fort A.P. Hill is a active military base. The National Scout Jamboree is usually once and a life time experience and occurs every four years. For Jamboree Troop 135, represented by 36 scouts and 4 adult leaders. The experience started on July 26th 2010. The Scouting movement and the scouting's character and morals are what we the scouting family will be celebrating. The Clock is Ticking, Jamboree staff are already pulling in the front gates of Fort A.P. Hill Virginia to set up and begin the long preparation in time for when the 40,000 scouts and leaders from all over the world come to experience a once in a life time experience and to enjoy the 2010 Jamboree. On Monday July 26th at 6:00 am Jamboree Troop 135 from West Windsor will be pulling in those front gates at Fort A.P Hill Virginia. After a long 18 month journey and long hours of preparations for the 36 boys and 4 adult leaders, the time has come. Jamboree Troop 135 ScoutMaster Mr. Richard Ruff followed by his assistants Mr. Martin Rexroad, Mr. Jerry Luz, and Mr. Joanthan Ruff have put in a lot of hours in training and preparations for all of us boys to have such a memorble experience. Troop 135 is a combination of Boy Scouts from both Troop 40 in West Windsor and Troop 33 in Trenton.
Throughout the 10 day experience, Scouts will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Boy Scouts. I will be posting a blog about the events that take place at the jamboree. As the clock continues to count down to the day the Jambore starts there is still alot of things to do. Stay tune for more information.
